VFAHT AIMC celebrated World Immunization Week with the slogan #VaccinesWorkForAll. It was an online campaign from April 26, 2020, To April 30, 2020. It covered the introduction of viruses, Introduction of diseases, causes, prevention, and importance of the vaccine.   

It included the following diseases:  

Rota Virus, Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR), TuberculosisHepatitis A, PolioHepatitis B, Typhoid, PneumococcalDiphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis (DtaP), and Influenza

The webinar was organized by the VFAHT- University of Lahore Local Council to highlight the effects of the second wave of COVID-19 in Pakistan.

The topics include:

  • Current Statistics of COVID19
  • Updates in the management of COVID19
  • Updates of COVID19 Vaccines.

The moderators started the webinar with the introduction of all speakers and their topics. It was an interactive session. The first topic ‘Current Statistics of COVID19’ was covered by Prof. Dr. Ahmad Uzair Qureshi. He also mentioned the intensity of the second wave. He called for precautionary measures and urged the audience to follow SOPs. 

Prof. Dr. Somia Iqtadar spoke about the current administration of COVID-19 and stressed on wearing masks and maintaining distance. She further clarified that symptoms like cough and flu should not be ignored, it may be influenza but precaution is required. 

Prof. Dr. Mulazim Hussain Bukhari shared his expertise on the process of vaccine development. He tried to dispel the myths surrounding vaccination. Questions from the audience were answered at the end of the session.

Event Details:

The purpose of the project was to raise awareness about the prevention, precautions, and safety of the current outbreak of the novel Corona Virus 2019. It was held at Aghosh Orphanage/Complex school. All students, staff, and workers attended the session.

VFAHT Team reached Aghosh Orphanage/Complex Township Lahore at around 10 am where they were given a warm welcome. The event started with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Usman Aziz. It was followed by a short play on general Hygiene practices. Then the director of the project Meeram Chaudhary explained precautions and prevention measures for Droplet-borne infectious diseases. Students at the school were engaged in a writing competition on preventing measures. The team distributed masks and hand sanitizers among the school children. The project director Meeram Chaudhary also explained preventive measures to the staff and workers. The event concluded with group photos. The team was given an adorable farewell by the wonderful children of the school.

The team VFAHT UCMD UOL was successful in their objective of spreading awareness of prevention, precaution, and safety from n-Cov2019 among the students, staff, and workers.

VFAHT Volunteers paid a major role during the pandemic. The Volunteers visited different hospitals, met the administration, and collected PPE requirement information.  They led the PPE distribution drive in all provinces of Pakistan. In the hard times, A group of 3-4 volunteers took the responsibility of deliverance Personal protective equipment (PPEs) to all designated hospitals for the frontline workers

Event Details:

The main objective of this project was to spread awareness among the masses about the prevention of Malaria. Online poster and Quiz competitions were arranged by the Zoonotic Infections team in collaboration with FJMU and UOL. A social media campaign was done on World Malaria day by sharing posters regarding signs, symptoms, and prevention of malaria on different platforms.

The project was a success. 520 entries were received for the quiz and 25 for the poster competition. Awareness was given among general masses and specifically students.

A Video Competition was organized by the National Council of VFAHT in relation to COVID-19.

21 Medical Institutes and 12 Non-Medical Institutes participated in this competition. Entries were received in 4 categories:

  • Live-action
  • Animation 
  • GIFs
  • Poetry video/music video on COVID-19

150+ Entries were received in which 109 Entries were published according to requirements. 41 Animated, 12 GIFs, 32 Poetry and Music, and 24 Live action videos were published.

The competition was open to all institutions. Entries were judged separately for medical and non-medical institutes in each category. 2 positions holders were announced in each category.

Our objective was to create awareness among the masses regarding the cause of the spread of typhoid. As it was the beginning of summer and people were eating and drinking cold things to beat the heat from stalls a surge in typhoid cases was seen. We tried to tackle it by creating awareness.          

Our VCAN division started working on it. They gathered the data and then adjusted it in a 2 to 3 minutes video for people to watch. The video was launched on the Facebook page and it was a success. It got the attention of a lot of people and we can say that it was an amazingly effective project

The Droplet infection team of Allama Iqbal Medical college Local council conducted an awareness campaign on 31 May 2020 on World Tobacco Day.
This was an awareness program to bring forth the effect tobacco has on our lungs and increased the incidence of various diseases among smokers. The team made posters for World Tobacco Day and shared them on their social media platforms for mass awareness. All the local council members took part in this campaign and shared the posters on their social media.
