Overview

VFAHT-DUHS commemorated World Hepatitis Day through a social media campaign from July 29, 2021, to August 04, 2021.

Viral hepatitis classified as hepatitis A, B, C, D, and E, may present with similar symptoms, but vary greatly in their range of prognosis. Hepatitis A is always an acute disease, while hepatitis B, C, and D are most likely to become ongoing and chronic. Hepatitis E is usually acute but can be particularly dangerous in pregnant women. These threatening outcomes when paired with a lack of awareness in our population, become a major contributing factor to the declining public health in our part of the world. Hence, our online campaign aimed to bridge these gaps in knowledge and highlight the importance of timely attention to these commonly prevalent diseases.

Posters were published on social media platforms for each type of hepatitis. It was viewed and shared across different profiles contributing to the achievement of our goals, spreading awareness through masses, where the viewers not only got to learn the facts but also what can be done at their end to ensure health and safety of their lives and of those around them.
