In commemorating the World Hepatitis Day on July 28, VFAHT SZMC organized a screening camp of hepatitis B & C. The main background for conducting this activity was to provide free screening to the rural population at Kot Samaba village, Rahim Yar Khan. People who tested negative were advised to get vaccination against Hepatitis B and secure themselves to getting the infection. Further tests and and treatment were counselled to the positively diagnosed patients.
This activity also included the education and counseling of villagers to aware the locals.
Program started at 8 am sharp. A camp was set up at a rural health center(RHC). Local doctors of RHC visited to inaugurate the camp proceedings. A total of 260 people were screened successfully against the hepatitis B and C.
A team of volunteers was dedicated for the education and counseling of all people present at the RHC. Volunteers used chart papers and banners to educate masses about the cause, spread, and preventive measures of hepatitis B and C.
The duration of the camp was 7 hours starting from 09:00AM to 03:00 PM. The team showed full adherence to COVID-19 SOPs during the camp.
