On May 27, 2024, VFAHT-BUHSC held a comprehensive phlebotomy workshop at the Skills Lab of Bahria University Health Sciences Campus, Karachi, attended by 37 participants. The workshop focused on essential phlebotomy protocols, procedural indications and contraindications, and measures to prevent HIV and Hepatitis B transmission. Participants learned vein selection, needle insertion, and blood collection techniques. They were educated on when phlebotomy is necessary and when it should be avoided, with a focus on safety and infection control. Interactive sessions included hands-on practice and expert guidance from knowledgeable instructors.  

By the end of the workshop, participants had a comprehensive understanding of phlebotomy principles, safe practices, and practical skills essential for performing procedures effectively and safely. The workshop provided valuable knowledge, skills, and confidence to excel in their healthcare roles while prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
