On May 20, 2024, VFAHT-UMDC organized a medical camp at Al Mohsin Academy (Greentime Education), Karachi, aimed at spreading awareness about pediatric infectious diseases and providing free medical consultations. Prior to the event, circulars detailing the activities and free checkups were distributed to parents. On the camp day, volunteers conducted awareness sessions, history taking, general examinations, and interactive stations such as mystery health hunt, spelling bee, beatbox, and a doodle den.
Parents attended awareness sessions on the transmission, symptoms, treatment, and prevention of pediatric infectious diseases. Following this, children and their parents received vitals checks, history evaluations, and consultations with two doctors. The interactive stations engaged children with activities like guessing objects, spelling health-related words, listening to heartbeats, and thumb painting. The event successfully addressed both infectious disease awareness and other health concerns presented during consultations. The media team effectively documented and promoted the event, enhancing social media engagement. Overall, the medical camp was well-received and achieved its goals, marking a significant success for VFAHT-UMDC.
