On July 29, 2024, VFAHT-RMU and VFAHT-STMU observed World Hepatitis Day at Rawalpindi Medical University, Rawalpindi in collaboration with RCAP. The event emphasized promoting liver health and deepening medical students’ understanding of hepatitis, including its transmission, symptoms, prevention, and treatment.
Distinguished speakers, including Carry James, CEO of the World Hepatitis Alliance, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Umar, Vice Chancellor of RMU (S.I) (H.I), and Dr. Aftab Ahmad, President of the National Academy of Young Scientists, delivered insightful reflections on the current state of hepatitis in Pakistan. The seminar featured an on-spot medical presentation by gastroenterology experts, fostering comprehension and dialogue among attendees.
The event also included a quiz session that tested participants’ knowledge and concluded with the announcement of winners for the poster competition, which highlighted innovative approaches to raising hepatitis awareness. This impactful initiative underscored the significance of education, collaborative action, and community engagement in combating hepatitis effectively.
