On September 28, 2024, VFAHT-AKU celebrated Global Handwashing Day with a Public Awareness Activity at Parent’s Voice – Ujala Karachi, a school for specially-abled children. A team of 15 dedicated volunteers engaged an audience of 80 participants in interactive activities to teach personal hygiene practices.
The event included demonstrations on proper handwashing techniques, cough and sneeze etiquette, and a germ hunt game to highlight areas where germs thrive. Children actively participated and enjoyed the activities, making the learning experience both educational and fun. Posters illustrating handwashing steps were provided to the school for continued awareness.
This successful activity reinforced the importance of hygiene and encouraged future initiatives to empower children with essential health skills.
