On September 12, 2024, VFAHT-JSMU conducted an Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Campaign at National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) and National Institute of Child Health (NICH), Karachi, addressing the growing concern of microorganisms developing resistance to antibiotics. The campaign highlighted key factors contributing to this issue, such as overuse of over-the-counter medications, seeking advice from multiple healthcare professionals, improper dosages, and unnecessary prescriptions.
With over 130 attendees, the session emphasized the importance of avoiding self-medication and consulting doctors before using antibiotics. Informative pamphlets were distributed to reinforce these vital messages, encouraging better healthcare practices and contributing to the fight against antimicrobial resistance.
