On August 5-6, 2024, VFAHT-DUHS conducted a two-day awareness campaign at Bar B Q Tonight, Clifton, Karachi. The initiative aimed to educate participants on critical health and safety topics relevant to the restaurant industry.
Day one focused on first aid responses to emergencies such as choking, fires, and burns, with practical demonstrations and an interactive Q&A session. Day two covered foodborne illnesses, emphasizing proper food handling, sanitization, cleaning, and storage. Participants were educated on the prevention, transmission, causes, symptoms, and treatment of these illnesses, concluding with scenario-based questions to reinforce learning. This impactful campaign successfully enhanced knowledge and preparedness among restaurant staff, promoting safer practices and better health awareness.
